Waste storage systems – places of waste disposal (at the legislative level) of the mining and processing industry are divided by origin into overburden dumps and tailings dumps of enrichment waste. On the territory of Kryvbas, overburden dumps can be classified as follows: dumps of mining and processing plants; dumps of underground iron ore mining; pre-revolutionary dumps; dumps of granite quarries; dams of tailings dumps. According to official data (State statistical reporting), 12.26 billion rubles were accumulated in Kryvbas. tons of overburden in 22 dumps, including 1 dump of PJSC "Zhelezorudkom" underground extraction of rich iron ore, which occupy 9 thousand hectares of the Earth's surface. The main petragaphic components of the most powerful shales sent to dumps in terms of volume are SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3 +FeO, CaO, and Na2O+K2O. According to scientists ' calculations, there are 104 dumps in the city, of which only 22 are on the balance sheet of enterprises and are taken into account in state statistical reports. At the existing mining and processing enterprises of Kryvbas, there are three types of dumps: active, mothballed, but considered on the balance sheet of enterprises; mothballed, inactive and not considered on the balance sheet of enterprises.
