Identified genotypes that combine a short period of rest with high productivity, a significant portion of the harvest that forage in the first and second mowing exceed the standard a 100%. During the reporting period, 94 alfalfa numbers were studied in the competitive trial. 78 prospective numbers were propagated. According to the harvest of green mass and dry matter, 10 samples were allocated, five of which exceeded the standard variety of Laska during the last 3-4 cycles of testing. Synthetic population No4302 (F3 c.12/1 x c.35/2), which exceeded the standard Laska on the yield of green mass, dry matter and seeds, is characterized by high drought and winter resistance, improved feed quality and resistance to main diseases, was passed to the state testing under the name Syniooke Dyvo (letter of transfer to the state test No. 02/607 of 23.11.2020). Two synthetic varieties Ladoslava (certificate № 200493; 27.02.2020) and Intriga odes’ka (certificate № 200494; 27.02.2020) passed the state testing successfully and were listed in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2020. Introduction of the new varieties is expected in 2021-2025. Growing the new varieties will increase the collection of green mass and hay by an average of 62% for the Steppe zone of Ukraine.
