Pisarenko Institute for Problems of Strength of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Operating conditions of modern equipment are determined by high load speeds, and depletion of service life depends on the intensity of its load. The choice of materials of structural elements of large resource structures is determined by the properties of steels and alloys to resist the destructive action of a set of factors operating in operating conditions on the stress-strain state of structural elements. A natural property of structural materials is the heterogeneity of the polycrystalline structure of structural steels and alloys. These circumstances negatively affect the scatter of the characteristics of the fundamental properties, which are obtained during mechanical tests and used in the calculations of the stress-strain state of structural elements. In order to increase the reliability of performance characteristics, it is necessary to take into account the results of mechanical tests that characterize the natural heterogeneity of the structural material, as a factor of technological influence on the scattering of experimental data and damage kinetics during cyclic loading. Thus, the study of the characteristics of operational damage to steels and alloys during fatigue under the influence of technological and operational factors is an urgent scientific and technical problem, the solution of which creates new opportunities to effectively improve the operational reliability of modern equipment in transport and energy. It is known that the issues of reliability and durability in aircraft and mechanical engineering are associated primarily with fatigue resistance. Premature destruction of parts, assemblies and machines is 80-90% according to estimates. The reason for this is the dynamic and re-alternating loads that cause fatigue damage to materials. An urgent task in such conditions is to create methods for assessing the efficiency of metallic materials and technical objects according to the technical condition.
