Wherein: - Databases (DB) of the Ascanian Fine-Fleeced Tavrian Type sheep and Tsigai breeds were created and a retrospective analysis of their productive characteristics was carried out, the population-genetic situation dynamics in the studied sheep populations was studied. - genotypic and paratypic factors were analyzed, the degree of their influence on the breeding value and sheep productivity of the indicated breeds was determined. A method for assessing and predicting the sheep breeding value has been developed, taking into account the influence of genotypic and paratypical factors. - The selection and genetic methods have been improved in terms of using the set of methods for evaluating sheep, which combines the determination of the evaluation by the BLUP method ranks according to the offspring quality with the daughter-mother and daughter-peers’ evaluations, as well as the values of the prepotency indices. Based on the research results, a model for the formation of highly productive sheep populations has been developed based on the analysis of the genetic situation with the use of modern information technologies. The model is based on the use of a previously developed "Methodology for assessing and predicting the breeding value of sheep", which allows not only assessing animals, but also calculating the effect of genotypic and paratypical factors, conducting effective breeding and selection taking into account the genetic potential and breeding value of animals and populations, genetic parameters.
