The need to study the transition zone between geoecosystems, as a whole in the concept of geoecological paradigm lies in its importance in local and regional socio-economic systems of the coastal territory of Ukraine. For most of the Ukrainian Black Sea coast, the objects of the transition zone are represented by estuaries and estuary-type lakes. These natural reservoirs are extremely important for coastal communities as sources of water for various needs, areas for fishing, aquaculture development, navigation, as well as sources of mineral and balneological resources.
