The object of research is the processes of interaction between the aqueous form of tritium and deuterium with live matter and abiotic components of the environment. The purpose of the work is to develop theoretical principles of environmental safety of the nuclear energy cycle in the generation and emission of the heavy isotope of hydrogen; research of efficiency and development of practical measures for the separation of hydrogen isotopes in natural-man-made biogeosystems. Research methods: theoretical (empirical), geochemical, radiochemical, radiometric, electrochemical (electrodialysis and electroosmoses), laboratory experiments. Experimentally investigated the processes of interaction of tritium water with layered silicates and their mixtures, adsorption kinetics and tritium isotope metabolism. The influence of thermal treatment on the adsorption properties of minerals and their ability to fractionate hydrogen isotopes in the state has been studied. For the first time, the effect of tritium and deuterium separation using clay-ceolyte membranes, which has practical value for the needs of nuclear energy, was established. A number of methods of purification of aqueous solutions from tritium contamination have been developed, in particular with the use of composite mineral mixture and electroosmotic fractionation process of hydrogen isotopes in aqueous solutions on proton-leading membranes. The processes of migration of heavy isotopes of hydrogen in the model biosystem of willow have been studied. The presence of physiological barriers that significantly limit the free penetration of tritium into the living components of willow has been proved. Predictive assumptions regarding the development of the research object are the development of technology for the treatment of NPPs from tritium contamination.
