The purpose of the study is to improve and diversify the methods of training and further professional development of specialists in tourism and hotel and restaurant business. Research methods. Basic theoretical research methods: theoretical (analysis of scientific and methodological literature on research problems); empirical (analysis of documentation - curricula, annual plans of the educational process, questionnaires, testing); pedagogical experiment (ascertaining and forming). Research results: Theoretical bases of formation of readiness of future experts in tourism to professional activity in the field of social tourism are opened and the condition of a researched problem in the pedagogical theory and practice of domestic and foreign systems of higher education is analyzed. The components, criteria, indicators and levels of formation of readiness of future specialists in tourism for professional activity in the field of social tourism are singled out and characterized. The pedagogical conditions of formation of readiness of future specialists in tourism to professional activity in the field of social tourism are defined and substantiated.
