It was experimentally established that superconducting correlations can propagate through a multilayer structure created by ferromagnetic and normal nanometer-thick films. It was discovered for the first time that quantum interference of superconducting wave functions in such a periodic structure leads to an undamped oscillating dependence of the critical Josephson current on the applied magnetic field. Using orthochromite GdCrO3 as an example, a new theoretical approach to the problem of anisotropy of the magnetic properties of ReMO3 oxides (Re - rare earth ion) has been proposed. Calculated temperature dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation agrees well with the experimental data for the temperature effect on the width of the electron paramagnetic resonance line for Er3+ ion in yttrium gallium borate. Conditions needed to obtain Ln(III)-containing polyoxotungstates Na9[Ln(W5O18)2]·35H2O (Ln = Gd, Er, Tm, Yb) were established. The synthesized salts were characterized by Single Crystal X-ray analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy, their magnetic properties were determined. A correlation between structural parameters and the charge of Ln-heteroatom nuclei was determined. Salts with Tm(III) and Yb(III) heteroatoms were found to exhibit field-induced slow relaxation of their magnetization likely controlled by Raman and Orbach relaxation processes. The salt with Tm(III) is a rare example of a single-molecule magnet arising from the oblate tetragonal anti-prismatic symmetry of the coordination sphere.
