The purpose of the research is a generalized characteristic of the current state and long-term dynamics of phytocenotic and faunal diversity of the natural-territorial complex of the Askania Nova Biosphere Reserve in the plane of model objects (vascular plants, root plakor-zonal and intrazonal phytocenoses, vertebrate fauna) with the forecast of structural tendencies and development of scientific and methodological recommendations on optimization of a condition of natural ecosystems. Research methods - generally accepted methods of geobotany, floristics, zoology, population ecology, remote, traditional laboratory and mathematical and statistical. According to the results of research, an integrated characterization of autogenesis and allogeneic dynamics of phytosystems and faunal complex in different modes of land use, a comprehensive assessment of ecological and coenotic differentiation, productivity and structural trends of native vegetation of the Askanian steppe in line with global and regional changes in natural ecosystems, the regularities of the spatial structure, functional organization and dynamics of the number of ornithocomplexes, populations of herpeto- and theriofauna, the influence of nature management regimes on the faunal diversity and separate demographic parameters of predatory mammals are revealed.
