The purpose of the research is to prepare and provide guidelines for organizing the work of units of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine to prevent, detect and document crimes and other offenses committed in railway transport. This goal led to the formulation and solution of the following tasks: study, analysis and generalization of legislative regulation of railway transport in order to identify criminogenic determinants that contribute to the commission of criminal and other offenses committed in this area; characteristics of the main varieties and features, as well as ways of committing criminal offenses in the field of railway transport; study of measures of legal responsibility for violation of the legislation regulating activity on railway transport.
