The purpose of the work was to find the main criteria for improving ethical standards in biomedical research when using nanotechnology and nanomaterials. The work was performed according to the calendar plan in the following main areas: 1) Organizational and methodological support of the Committee on Bioethics under the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine; 2) Organizing and holding national congresses on bioethics and seminars on the appropriate topics; 3) Theoretical and methodological analysis on the basic concepts of nanoethics, the specifics of its principles and norms and place in the system of trans-disciplinary research; 4) Search for the main criteria for the control of nanotechnological research, scientific and methodological support of nanoethical training of biological and medical professionals. As a result, the current problems and basic concepts of nanoethics were analyzed, the prospects, opportunities and risks of nanotechnology in biomedicine were studied, scientific and methodological recommendations were developed, and coordination measures aimed at implementing nanoethics in the working area of bioethics committees were carried out.
