Gryshka National Botanical Garden NAS of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the work is to introduce an information-resource approach to the identification of CO2 pools and flows in the crop phytocenoses of Ukraine. popup.description2 During the reporting period, within the information and resource concept, a knowledge base on the distribution of pools and greenhouse gas flows in terrestrial ecosystems was formed with a detailed analysis of their features depending on: soil and climatic conditions; abiotic and biotic factors; structural and functional organization of natural and artificial biogeocenoses; species composition of vegetation, anatomical-morphological and physiological-biochemical features of plants of different ecotype and carbon metabolism; tillage technologies; norms of application and chemical composition of mineral and organic fertilizers; taxonomic diversity of the microbocenoses; plant productivity; anthropogenic impact; modern model approaches to climate change assessment. For the first time, the concept of balanced and unbalanced systems is defined by the results of research and artificial biogeocenoses. According to indicators of CO2 emissions, plant species composition, microbiological and enzymatic activity of soils, distribution of nutrients, quantitative and qualitative composition of phenolic compounds, allelopathic interaction, it is proved that natural biogeocenoses, in particular beech virgin and steppe groups of Askania Nova, are self-balancing and self-organization. For the first time, No-till technology, which is regulated by scientists in many countries around the world for carbon sequestration, has been shown to increase soil phytotoxicity and allelopathic activity, increase the content of phenolic compounds, manganese and ammonia nitrogen. According to the indicators of organic carbon, laccase activity and the number of melanin-containing micromycetes, a rapid assessment of potential soil fertility for different soil and climatic conditions has been developed. A rapid evaluation has also been proposed to predict plant productivity by quantitative indicators of chloroplasts in the cell and chlorophyll b content in plant leaves.
