Purebred and crossbred genotypes obtained by crossing the Ascanian Karakul breed ewes with Dorper and Texel rams for creation the specialized meat breeds, were assessed by the smushki qualities, reproduction rates, intensity of growth, development and meat productivity. When crossing the Ascanian Karakul breed ewes with ram-sires of the Dorper breed, the largest share both among purebred and among crossbred lambs were of the ribbed smushkiі type - 61.0 and 61.6%. Average daily gain in live weight from birth to 4 months of age in purebred animals - 185.9-196.6 g; crossbred - 208.3-228.0 g; pre-slaughter live weight of sheep at 6 months of age, respectively, 33.7 and 33.5 kg, slaughter yield - 40.9 and 43.2%. The effect of heterosis between purebred and crossbred lambs was established at the level of 1.3-57.4 in terms of live weight and meat productivity. When crossing the Ascanian Karakul breed ewes with ram-sires of the Texel breed, the yield of the ribbed smushki type was 62.0% versus 53.1% in purebreds. Average daily gain in live weight during the suckling period in purebred animals - 194.9 g; crossbreds - 234.5 g; the pre-slaughter live weight of rams at 5 months of age, respectively, was 33.8 and 34.2 kg; slaughter yield - 49.9 and 47.0%. A low effect of heterosis between purebred and crossbred lambs was established - 2.0-20.5. Crossbred genotypes have been created.
