The purpose of the work is to develop methods for creating new sheep genotypes of the meat productivity direction during interbreeding of domestic breeds ewes with the foreign selection meat breeds rams. Research methods - zootechnical, laboratory, statistical analysis, modern breeding methods, biotechnology, population and molecular genetics, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis of research results. The state of the world sheep breeding was investigated in terms of the sheep population dynamics in the world leading countries, the production level of the product’s main types and the share in global production of different continents. According to the study results of the ewes' productive and reproductive qualities and the offspring development dynamics of different genotypes, meat qualities of ½ and ¾-blooded rams, it was found that the use of crossing with meat rams increases the average offspring daily growth by 8-15%, slaughter yield by 1, 5-2, 5%, meat yield in one carcass by 1.0-2.6%. The offspring acclimatization ability was investigated in terms of body temperature, pulse rate and lambs’ respiration rate of different genotypes under the different temperature load conditions. According to the hematological and biochemical parameters of the rams' and lamb ewes’ blood of different genotypes, no deviations from the norm were revealed. The selection and genetic parameters of productivity traits have been determined. Studies of the herd genetic structure dynamics by molecular genetic markers have established that the use of crossing with the Texel breed rams led to a change not only in the phenotypic structure of the herd, but also in the genetic one. A methodology has been developed for creating sheep new genotypes of the meat productivity direction for the Ukraine South conditions.
