The presence of age differences in the nature and extent of these changes was shown. It was found that animals with low oxygen consumption are more capable of alimentary obesity, which must be taken into account when using different models of obesity in experimental practice. The data on the role of individual characteristics of basal energy metabolism in the pathogenesis of alimentary obesity have practical significance for predicting the risk of its development.
