However, there are a number of other cities that have the appropriate potential for their inclusion in the register of historic cities, their identification was one of the tasks. A number of such cities and complexes were selected as basic attractions for research. In the course of the research the terminological apparatus of the research was developed; a sample of research objects for in-depth analysis and their use for the development of guidelines for regeneration; developed a number of theoretical and methodological provisions for the implementation of professional activities for the study, preservation and regeneration (urban restoration) of historic cities and historical architectural and urban, landscape and urban complexes and ensembles. The terminological apparatus of research and research and design works on preservation and regeneration of historical and town-planning ensembles and complexes is developed; historic cities in general. Experimental studies of a number of urban objects of different rank and purpose (castles, historic cities, landscape and park ensembles, historical architectural and urban complexes), which provided in-depth analysis of objects and the use of results to develop guidelines. Theoretical and methodological bases for improvement of processes of scientific research of historical cities, historical architectural and town-planning, landscape-town-planning complexes and ensembles, expedient measures for their preservation and regeneration (town-planning restoration) are developed.
