The study goal was to identify patterns of living organisms responses (at the molecular, cellular, organismal, population levels) and ecosystems to anthropogenic-climatic environment transformation under conditions of valley-terraced landscapes. Ecological-floristical, zoological, geobotanical, biogeocenological, physiological, biochemical and phytoclimatic research methods were applied. According to the research results, the most significant species, their molecular and cellular components, populations and groupings were identified as biomarkers of anthropogenic and climatic transformation of the environment. Long-term changes in ecosystems within the valley-terraced landscapes with different degrees of transformation were assessed. Peculiarities of the response mechanisms development in the living organisms as a reaction to environmental pollution at the molecular and cellular levels in model and natural conditions, and variability of their biochemical, physiological and morphological characteristics under its influence were studied. A new approach of bioindication analysis using a comprehensive assessment of anthropogenic and climatic changes in ecosystems of valley-terraced landscapes as a whole and for individual biocomponents was applied during the research. The species and groupings sensitive to anthropogenic and climatic changes, as well as the status of hemerobic species directly for conditions of the Steppe zone of Ukraine have been newly identified. Comparative analysis of changes in flora species and ecomorphic composition within the valley landscapes of the Steppe zone was firstly performed over a 130-year period. Scientific results obtained were implemented into water management projects and the Green Program of Dnipro. Product Description popup.authors Ivanko Irina A. Baranovskyi Borys O. Bojko Oleksandra O.
