A method has been developed for the production of ZnSxSe(1-x) solid-solutions, which involves mixing the starting components, purifying the mixture from oxygen impurities by purging the mixture with an inert gas, calcining the mixture, cooling the resulting cake and then grinding it. It has been established that the optimal ratio of ZnSe:ZnS components to obtain the best scintillation characteristics is a range from 1:5 to 1:6. A simple method for producing powdered scintillation material ZnSxSe(1-x) is proposed. Based on the obtained solid solutions was created composite scintillators.
