The purpose of the study is to substantiate the theoretical foundations and develop practical recommendations for the development of organic agriculture as a factor in food security and rational use of land for organic farming on the path to European integration, identify ways to improve current legislation in this area and increase its efficiency. Research methods - the methodological basis of the work is a system of general scientific and special methods, which allowed to study the processes and phenomena in their relationship and solve scientific and applied problems. The dialectical method accompanied the whole process of this study and allowed to consider the development of land relations in Ukraine, to formulate views on improving the current legislation of Ukraine and to suggest ways to achieve these goals. The forecast of influence of the offered changes or additions to the current legislation of Ukraine regulating the investigated public relations is made by means of a modeling method. The method of comparative legal analysis allowed to compare the system of land lease relations in Ukraine and other countries. The formal-legal method was chosen to establish the content of certain provisions of land legislation, which regulates the procedure for certification and labeling of organic products. Theoretical and practical provisions on organic agriculture were studied by analysis and synthesis. The operation of the system-structural method helped to clarify the criteria for determining the suitability of agricultural land for use in the process of organic farming. The abstract-logical method was used to generalize the components of the mechanism for ensuring the development of organic production, to formulate conclusions.
