The aim of the work is to generalize literature and own data on crystal chemistry and diffraction methods of analysis of numerous carbon structures and structural analogues of carbon - various modifications of BN and BCxN compounds, as well as to prepare new sections of the monograph "Carbon structures, real and hypothetical". A review of theoretical and experimental work on the compression of carbon to pressures above 1000 GPa. The analysis of experimental data on amorphous carbon structures obtained by different methods is carried out. Peculiarities of X-ray methods for studying the structure of graphite-like and diamond-like modifications of boron nitride and BCxN compounds are considered. Particular attention is paid to the method of deciphering radiographs of diamond-like nanocrystalline phases, which allows to determine - whether the sample is a single-phase sample of the triple compound BCxN, or it contains a mixture of diamond + sphalerite BN phases. The peculiarities of X-ray diffraction on weakly absorbing objects are considered: the shift of diffraction maxima, as well as the dependence of their intensity on the sample thickness and diffraction angle. Based on the work done for the manuscript of the monograph "Carbon structures - real and hypothetical": three sections were prepared: "Amorphous carbon", "Structural analogues of carbon" and "Features of diffraction patterns of low-absorbing objects".  Product Description popup.authors Balan Tamila R Britun Victor F popup.nrat_date 2021-02-03 Close
