The object of study - the process of interaction of the flow of grain mixtures, coming for cleaning from combines to the separator with the working bodies and the air flow passing through the grain material and in the process of which the seeds are divided into fractions by grain density. The purpose of the study is to improve the quality of seed fractionation to 90-95%, reduce injuries and damage to grain to 0.1-0.2% while reducing energy costs by 20-25% by justifying a new method of separation of grain mixtures, as well as improving technical technological processes of fractionation of seed mixtures according to the complex of physical and mechanical properties. The novelty of the obtained results lies in the establishment of new patterns of changes in the flow parameters of grain mixtures (separation of impurities and its separation into fractions) from the structural and kinematics parameters of the separator, revealed their relationship in the process of seed separation. The practical value of research and implementation of its results is to develop a separator with a closed air flow to improve the quality of grain and seeds, reduce injuries and damage to grain while reducing energy costs. The process of separation of grain mixtures in a closed air flow and the structural and technological scheme of the separator are substantiated. The analysis of a condition of post harvest processing of grain in the agricultural and grain-harvesting enterprises of agrarian and industrial complex of Ukraine is carried out, the necessary productivity of a separator for grain and seeds for perspective grain-clearing production lines is proved.
