It was found that between breast girth and live weight in all rabbits from the sample there was a relatively high positive genetic correlation, which was in the range of rG = 0.45… 0.56, and between the width of the waist and live weight in the range of rG = 0.44 … 0.55. Indicators of the phenotypic correlation between chest girth and live weight were rG = 0.47… 0.55, and between lumbar width and live weight - rG = 0.44… 0.55. The highest phenotypic and genetic correlations between breast girth, lumbar width and live weight were observed in the young of Nazar rabbits, which were respectively higher by 24.4% and 13% relative to the mean (p <0.05). The coefficient of heredity h2 of live weight of rabbits at the same time significantly ranged from 0.25 to 0.35 (p <0.05). Based on these data, the male Nazar was selected to the group of breeders. The correlated response of the selection trait - the width of the waist when selecting another - live weight was 90.31%. The selection differential for live weight in rabbits of the Nazar line was S = 449.25 g, and the effect of selection for live weight? G varied from 112.31 g to 157.24 g The study of phenotypic correlations of additional measurements (chest depth, breast width, body length) with live weight of rabbits showed that the highest correlation: breast width - live weight was present in the line of Nazar and Baikal and was rG = 0.43 (mr = 0.03) and rG = 0.62 (mr = 0.05), respectively. Thus, genetic correlations than phenotypic ones show much more clearly the true degree of influence of the genotype of rabbit parents on each of the analyzed indicators under the fixed influence of others and can be used for a more detailed analysis of the relationship between selection and genetic traits.
