Namely: strengthening the applied orientation of the content of teaching mathematics; implementation of an integrated approach to content selection; consolidation of educational material; compliance of the content of education with the age and cognitive abilities of students, the prospects of their development; development of motivation, interest in acquiring competencies; activity, developmental and differentiated approaches to teaching mathematics. It was found that the methods of competence-oriented teaching of mathematics include: a combination of continuous and discrete mathematics, logical and visual; focus on the application of mathematical facts in technology, everyday life, related sciences; use of computer technology as a means of expanding mathematical practice, modeling and research of algebraic and geometric objects; increasing the share of problems on modeling spatial forms according to their quantitative characteristics, on the study of mathematical models of real processes and phenomena; use of a constructive approach in the introduction of basic concepts, intra-subject and inter-subject relations. It is substantiated that the conformity of methods and technologies of teaching mathematics at the standard level to the peculiarities of educational activity of modern students and the developed principles and criteria of content selection contributes to the intensification of educational and cognitive, research activities.
