The purpose of the work is to substantiate the directions of increasing the efficiency of agro-industrial enterprises in the conditions of transformation of economic relations and globalization. Research methods – epistemological method (to clarify and deepen the meaning of «economic efficiency»), analysis and synthesis, comparison and statistical and economic modeling (in assessing current trends in economic efficiency of agricultural enterprises), correlation-regression and calculation-constructive (in assessment and forecasting of development), abstract-logical (in the development of measures to improve the economic efficiency of agricultural enterprises). The influence of the concept of sustainable development and integration processes on the economic efficiency of agricultural enterprises is determined. The basic parameters of formation of strategic potential and ensuring competitiveness for increase of efficiency of functioning of business entities in the agri-food sphere are substantiated. The necessity of investment-innovative way of development of agro-industrial enterprises and taking into account international factors of influence on this process is proved.
