The main task of the GDR is to study the legal status of the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT). The purpose of the study is a comprehensive study of the legal nature and legal status of INMARSAT, consideration of the specifics and features of the international legal position of INMARSAT in the system of international organizations. The object of research is the social relations that arise between the subjects of international law in the process and in connection with the activities of the International Organization of Maritime Satellite Communications (INMARSAT). The subject of the research is the legal basis of the activity of the international organization of maritime satellite communication INMARSAT, constituent materials, documents regulating the procedural issues of its work, the grounds and nature of cooperation with other organizations. As part of the research, the planned research was carried out, in particular: 1. A study of the preconditions, reasons and grounds for the establishment of INMARSAT in view of the patterns of emergence of international organizations in general; 2. The peculiarities of the legal nature of the constituent act are determined. 3.
