The calculations of the influence of various factors on the processes of supercavity formation are carried out. It is shown that for the considered range of parameters taking into account the gas flow inside the wall cavities has a weak effect on the pressure distribution along the length and the dimensions of the cavity. Two methods of controlling the size of wall cavities are considered: changing the shape of the cavitator and regulating the gas supply to the cavity. It is shown that the regulation of gas supply to the cavity is complicated by the possible loss of stability and the occurrence of self-oscillations of the ventilated cavity. The analysis of self-oscillations of ventilated cavities as a dynamic system with three phase variables is given.
