Structural studies of the cross-section of the taps have shown the presence of a gradient deformation structure. The distribution of deformations over the cross-section of the taps is analyzed and maps of the distribution of deformations are constructed for all problematic sections using the "cross-section" method. Taps made by the CDB method from large diameter hot-deformed pipes demonstrate less local deformations in all areas, have greater corrosion resistance, and exhibit higher fatigue resistance. Local plastic deformation is small in the surface layers of the taps, in these areas there are no fatigue cracks and the least weight loss during cavitation. It is shown that taps made by the CDB method from cold-deformed pipes have high values of local deformation and demonstrate lower fatigue and cavitation resistance than bends obtained from hot-deformed pipes. The obtained results are used to optimize the technological modes for the manufacture of bends by the cold deformation method for the repair of pipelines of nuclear and thermal power plants. The technical level and performance indicators of the obtained taps are guaranteed not lower than those currently produced by Ukrainian manufacturers, which is confirmed by the results of tests carried out in the test center of JSP"ARMA".
