Today, known thermoelectric thin-film micromodules operating at room temperatures use antimony and bismuth tellurides (compounds V-VI) as working materials. However, recent studies show that the modification of vapor-phase technologies for the deposition of materials based on compounds IV-VI with impurities in the cationic or anionic sublattice can increase the quality factor of the material: lower thermal conductivity by creating numerous grain boundaries and increasing the thermo-EMF coefficient Fermi level. This will result in obtaining thermoelectric efficiency values of such materials at the level of the same values as for bismuth telluride, but at the same time significantly expand the range of their practical use using significantly cheaper technologies: instead of (250-350) K for Bi2Te3 to (300-800) K for the case of PbTe-based materials. All this will lead to a more universal application of the thermoelectric module, and the use of vapor-phase technologies, in addition, will reduce its cost.
