The binding energy of water to the surface is determined not by its hydrophobic properties, but by the radii of the clusters of water in the interparticle gaps. It was found that, depending on the method of preparation of the composite system PMS / A-300, water in the interparticle gaps may be in a weakly bound or strongly bound state. Depending on how the liquid hydrophobic medium affects the size of the clusters of adsorbed water, it can lead to a decrease or increase in the amount of interfacial energy of the adsorbed water.
