The purpose of the project is to systematize and deepen the theoretical foundations of tax risks of economic entities and to develop on this basis methodological tools for assessing and optimizing such risks in Ukraine. Research methods - dialectical method of cognition, fundamental analysis, retrospective analysis, method of argumentation; methods of strategic analysis, abstract-logical, comparative-statistical analysis, tabular-graphic, monographic, sociological and expert surveys, grouping and questionnaires, index, induction and deduction, theory of systems analysis. The results of the study and their scientific novelty: in deepening the scientific and theoretical provisions and developing practical recommendations for assessing and optimizing the tax risks of economic entities in Ukraine; a methodical approach to estimating the probability of distortion of financial statements reflecting the tax base is proposed, which is based on an in-depth study of correlations between relevant financial indicators in value terms and non-financial natural indicators of business entities, taking into account their industry specifics.
