The purpose of the study - based on the analysis of theoretical developments, the provisions of national international sectoral legislation, generalization of law enforcement and judicial practice, relevant domestic and foreign experience to suggest ways to improve the legal regulation of individual institutions. In the process of research the dialectical method, historical-legal method, system-structural method, comparative-legal method, method of system analysis, etc. were used. Results: ways to improve the legal mechanism for protecting the interests of individual depositors in the rehabilitation and liquidation of commercial banks in Ukraine; formulated recommendations for further modernization of banking legislation in the field of deposit services in accordance with international standards and taking into account the growing demand for Internet banking; substantiated expediency of taking into account the European experience in separating from natural monopoly markets those components that can really function in a competitive environment, and in which there is interest from private investors; formulated recommendations for the implementation of international experience in the process of reforming the system of state regulation of natural monopolies.
