Research objects were as follows: culture of Spirulina platensis, mouse fibroblasts, human blood, oysters Crassostrea gigas, nanocrystalline cerium dioxide, hydrated fullerene C60. Research methods: cryogenic, cultural, microscopic, spectrophotometric, biochemical, flow cytometric, organoleptic, biophysical and physical ones. The nanocrystalline cerium dioxide or hydrated fullerene C60 supplement was established to cause no toxic effect on all the biological objects under study and showed protective features during hypothermic storage. The use of antioxidant properties of nanocrystalline cerium dioxide is quite promising for development of cryoprotective media to reduce a negative impact of toxic preservatives. Cerium dioxide nanoparticles affect the development of phase transformations and vitrification of DMSO solutions, thus revealing the properties of crystallization inhibitors. Novelty, efficiency of implementation: our findings concerning the shelf life extension for oysters Crassostrea gigas during hypothermic storage under hydrated fullerene C60 protection allowed designing an efficient technology for industrial mollusk transportation and storage.
