Object of study: PVA solutions (9 kDa, 31 kDa and 75 kDa), human erythrocytes. Research methods. Research methods. Stalagmometry, optic microscopy, confocal microscopy, cryomicroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, optic spectroscopy, hematological, biochemical, physicochemical methods, molecular modeling, statistical analysis. Research results. Physicochemical properties of water solutions of PVA of various molecular mass and combined cryoprotective media (CPM) that contained PVA were measured. The morphology of crystal structure of PVA solutions during warming was investigated. The role of cooling rate was assessed. Cytotoxic and cryoprotective efficiency of PVA solutions and CPM containing PVA were assessed under cooling human RBCs. The impact of biologically active substances on cryoprotective properties of PVA was esteemed. General patterns of CPM action that contained PVA were defined under low-temperature cryoconservation of biological objects. The expedience of the usage of combination of cryoprotectors with PVA in cryopreservative compositions for cooling biological objects was reasoned.
