The purpose of R & D is to create an operational method for assessing the spatially distributed ecological condition of the soil cover under different land use systems by remote sensing methods. Research methods - theoretical, spectral analysis, experimental, systems analysis. The determining role of soil homeostasis as a degree of soil energy consumption in interaction with the external environment (solar radiation) has been established in the formation of the mechanism of influence of land use systems on the evolution of soil properties. The change (decrease) in the level of homeostasis under the influence of tillage leads to the negative consequences of evolutionary changes in soil properties. The detailed concept of homeostasis is the key to assessing and predicting evolutionary changes in properties, the mechanism of reproduction of properties and structural organization of the soil is considered. The created "Method for determining the ecological status of soils based on remote sensing of the Earth (REM)" is based on conservative indicators of information nature, which are the content of secondary minerals and humus. Among the spectral indices obtained by processing space images, the highest correlation was found between the content of humus and the content of iron oxides (IO - iron oxide), which determined the ecological status and fertility parameters of soils in pilot farms with different farming systems. A comparative quantitative assessment of the spatially distributed ecological condition of the soil cover and the mechanism of the influence of land use systems on the evolution of soil properties are revealed. The developed method can be used in soil fertility monitoring studies.
