Research methods were as follows: spectrophotometry, DSC, EPR, gel chromatography, microscopy, histology, morphometry. Different low temperature impacts and storage terms of placenta under low temperatures on antiradical, antioxidant, platelet anti-aggregation activity, the ability of extracts to increase the thermal stability of erythrocyte membranes and wound-healing effect of HPEs, have been investigated. The phase state of aqueous systems of placental tissue within the temperature range of 0 ÷ -196°С and the effect of storage temperature on biological activity of its extracts have been studied with determining the efficiency of individual HPE fractions. The placenta storage at -196°C within 6 months was shown to not reduce an antiradical activity of its extracts and to enable preserving the HPE antioxidant properties as for the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and erythrocytes under oxidative stress caused by nitrite, hydrogen peroxide or ozone. The HPEs, derived from the placenta, stored at -196°C, demonstrated an anti-aggregation activity towards human platelets, the ability to reduce the erythrocyte thermohemolysis, to modify the behavior of structural and dynamic state of erythrocyte cytosol during hyperthermia and a wound healing effect. During placenta storage for more than 3 months at -20°C there was a decrease in antiradical activity of the derived extracts, primarily it concerned the low molecular weight fraction below 4 kDa. The HPEs, derived from the placenta, stored at -20°C for 6 months, manifested no antioxidant, anti-aggregation effects and ability to increase the thermal stability of erythrocytes. It was shown that the HPE lyophilization allowed preserving the enzym Product Description popup.authors Berezina Evgenia I. Bobrova Elena M Govorova Yuliana S Goryacha Iryna P. Zinchenko Vasyl D.
