Research methods - analytical (including graphical analysis), statistical data processing methods for water intake and drainage, climatic, hydrological and hydrometeorological data, comparative analysis, the method of decoding remote sensing data and GIS analysis and modeling. New knowledge on the patterns of changes in the water content of rivers of Ukraine in terms of economic activity and global climate transformation. Regularities of formation of anthropogenic and natural characteristics of river catchments are established. Measures have been developed to improve the condition of rivers and improve the management of their water resources in the face of possible changes in water content due to the impact of climate change and economic activity. A methodology for assessing the impact of economic activity and global climate change on river water content has been developed, which is presented in the “Guidelines for assessing the impact of economic activity on river water content”.
