The original parental forms were winter wheat varieties and two-handed varieties. Canadian spring lines, in particular, DH31, DK20, RL5711, RL 6089, were used as sources of stem rust resistance genes. The material of F1 plants from crossbreeding of wheat varieties with carriers of stem rust genes was grown by spring sowing and populations of F2 grains were obtained, in which winter forms will be hatched among F2 plants. The genetic material of wheat with Sr genes was transferred for inclusion in the selection process (in the NSC Institute of Agriculture of NAAS and in the Poltava State Agrarian Academy). In addition, 27 F1 selection lines of the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of NASU and 37 F2 lines based on these lines and commercial wheat varieties were examined for the presence of the Sr33 gene and numbers with the resistance gene were selected.
