The subject of the study is the effect of moisture on the condition of the coal seam and host rocks, as well as levels of air dust, safe for pneumoconiosis. Purpose: to determine the permissible levels of air dust and the feasibility of using pre-humidification of coal in the array to reduce air dust. Research methods: analysis of mining conditions, results of dust measurement and regulatory documentation on dust load levels. As a result of research, the levels of air dust safe for pneumoconiosis have been determined. It is established that safe levels are achieved without prior humidification of the coal massif.
