To select neutrons with an average energy of 2 keV from the reactor spectrum, a quasi-energy filter with the composition: Sc (110.59 g/cm2), 60Ni (80.2 g/cm2), 54Fe (39.37 g/cm2), S 7g/cm2), Co (26.7g/cm2), 10B (80.2 g/cm2). Calculated average energy and width of the main neutron line (at the level of 95% of the response) 1.913 (+0.691, -0.857) keV, filter purity - 99.60%. Two series of measurements were performed on a filtered neutron beam with an average energy of 2 keV. In each of the series, a set of samples of metal hafnium with thicknesses from 0.00236 +- 0.00004 to 0.01257 +- 0.00004 atoms/b was used. A sample of polyethylene (PE) with a thickness of 0.1856 atoms/b was used to determine the background samples. Corrections for the resonance self-shielding effect were calculated by simulating an experiment using MCNP 4c code according to the two most different ENDL ENDF/B-VI and CENDL-3.1. The average values of the experimental value of the unshielded cross-section, determined by measurements of six samples of hafnium, are equal to 23.75 +- 0.29 b when using resonant self-shielding factors from the calculations according to ENDF/B-VI and 24.71 +- 0.19 b –with CENDL-3.1. A comparative analysis of our result with the data of other authors and with data from modern ENDL. Compilation of experimental data obtained by Ukrainian scientists into the international database of experimental data CSISRS / EXFOR for incident neutrons (12 data sets), gamma quanta (21 data sets) and charged particles (44 data sets) was performed.   Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2021-02-18 Close
