THERMOELECTRIC HEAT PUMP, COMPUTER SIMULATION, WATER PURIFICATION. Research object – heat source based on the use of the Peltier effect, for water supply systems for cosmonauts. The purpose of the work – development of a thermoelectric heat source with a minimum mass and volume for water supply systems for cosmonauts. Research methods - complex methods of computer design and optimization of thermoelectric equipment, experimental research methods using a specially designed test bench to study the parameters of thermoelectric heat source. Fundamentally new approaches were used in the integrated design of the space-purpose heat source, which made it possible to reduce significantly the mass and dimensions of the device while maintaining its energy efficiency. The main characteristics of the developed device exceed the domestic and foreign level, in particular, the heating coefficient of the device is a record at level 3 with its minimum mass and weight, its weight and volume having been reduced by a factor of 1.2-1.5. The results of the work will be implemented in the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in order to create a device for obtaining highly purified water for space and medical purposes. The device will be used in long-term space missions on the ISS, space exploration missions, including Mars, as well as in the “Moon Village Association” Moon Exploration Program jointly with M.Yangel “Yuzhnoye State Design Office” which will contribute to progress in the space industry of Ukraine. The work is closely related to the research topics of the Institute of Thermoelectricity and LLC “Termodistilliatsiia RV”. It is advisable to continue the research in order to create design, technological and operational documentation for the developed device.
