The object of research is the processes of using bioethanol to power diesel engines. The purpose of the study is to increase the level of energy autonomy of agricultural production by introducing bioethanol into agricultural production to power internal combustion engines, reducing the annual demand for petroleum fuels and the toxicity of exhaust gases. According to research, all diesel engines used in agriculture in Ukraine can be adapted to the use of bioethanol by supplying it to the air tract of a diesel engine with air and regulating its number by an electronic regulator depending on the operating modes. Based on the results of the analysis of the modern element base, it is established that electronic control units with several software variants that can be adjusted to different types of fuel are becoming widespread in promising internal combustion engines. The design and technical parameters of the electronic control unit for the supply of bioethanol to the air tract of the internal combustion engine have been developed. A model of the control unit for the supply of bioethanol to the air tract of a diesel engine has been developed. As a result of the production inspection it was found that the operation of the MTZ-80 tractor using a mock-up control unit for the supply of bioethanol to the air path of the diesel engine showed that the traction of a tractor with a plow unit is reduced from 7 to 8%.
