The purpose of research is to substantiate the scientific-and-methodological bases of determining the economic efficiency of innovation in the field of protection and rational use of soil resources. Research methods – abstract-logical, in particular such techniques as analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction; monographic; graphic; calculation-and-analytical; economic-and-statistical; econometric modeling; expert method. Mathematical-and-statistical data processing was performed using the program Statistica 10. Scientific-and-methodological bases for determining the economic efficiency of innovation in the field of protection and rational use of soil resources have been developed. A set of methodologies has been developed: (1) methodology for determining the economic efficiency of soil reclamation and reclamation investment and innovation projects; (2) methodology for determining the environmental-and-economic effectiveness of anti-erosion measures; (3) methodology for determining the ecological-and-economic efficiency of remediation of man-made soils contaminated with heavy metals. The results of research used during develop the "Concept of land (soil) degradation neutrality in Ukraine" and regional program of soil fertility protection in Kharkiv region. The obtained results are implemented and can be used in the scientific research and in the educational process of universities and institutions. The results of scientific work will be used during the formation of state soil protection policy, development of strategies, concepts, sectoral and regional programs for soil protection and reproduction of their fertility; during the transfer of innovative developments.
