Imperfect control of civilizational processes inevitably leads to an increase in anthropogenic and man-made pressure on the environment, which gradually leads humanity to ecological catastrophe. To solve these problems, such an effective environmental management tool as environmental audit has been used for a long time, which involves the transfer to society and the private sector of part of the authority, responsibility and risks for the implementation of environmental projects. Imperfect regulatory framework, low level of incentives for the business sector to use modern environmental management tools, partial disregard for foreign experience in the application of environmental audit in general are among the main reasons for the strengthening of modern environmental imbalances in Ukraine.
