The subject of research - the process of forming the main components of sports and cultural orientations of the individual; finding out their specifics due to professional physical culture and sports activities. The purpose of the work is the theoretical development and substantiation of the holistic concept of sports culture of the individual from the standpoint of the leading branches of social and humanitarian knowledge; substantiation of pedagogical strategies of its realization. Sports culture of the individual is considered as an important component of the general culture and way of life, an integral component of the process of raising living standards in modern Ukraine, creating conditions for the harmonious development of the individual. Research methods: dialectical; structural and logical; structural and functional; axiological; study for analysis of scientific and scientific-methodical literature; questionnaires, oral interviews, interviews, generalization of best practices of physical culture and sports and worldview work; statistical processing of the obtained results. For the first time the theoretical development and substantiation of the holistic concept of sports culture of the individual from the standpoint of the leading branches of social and humanitarian knowledge is substantiated and carried out. The implementation of the recommendations contributed to the optimization of educational strategies in the field of physical culture and sports, the formation of a high spiritual culture, a humanistic worldview of the individual.
