The subject of the research is the protection of children's rights in the conditions of decentralization of power in Ukraine. The purpose of this work is to find reasonable mechanisms for decentralization of social protection of children in Ukraine to create an effective system of ensuring the rights and interests of every child in Ukraine, study national legislation on this issue, analyze best national and international practices and cooperation on children's rights in decentralization. Results and novelty: the main socio-demographic characteristics of children and indicators of their health, level of education, socio-economic situation of families with children are analyzed; the analysis of the state policy in the field of protection of the rights of children, activity of state authorities, executive authorities and local governments, civil society institutions is carried out; the national normative-legal acts regulating the issues of protection of children's rights in the conditions of decentralization of power are analyzed; the current state and problems of social protection of children in the areas that depend on the decentralization process are studied; studied the international experience of implementing policies in the field of protection of children's rights in the context of decentralization of power; the main trends of changes in the field of protection of children's rights in the period of reforming local self-government and territorial organization of power in Ukraine are identified; proposals on optimal mechanisms for ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of every child in the context of decentralization in Ukraine have been developed.
