The object of research is scientific and methodological approaches to the organization and methods of accounting and reporting on the availability and movement of accounting objects at enterprises and institutions and organizations of the public sector. The purpose of research is to generalize approaches to determining the role and importance of accounting in modern business conditions and finding ways to improve accounting, reporting and training of accounting and taxation in the development of the profession, its regulation in accordance with qualification requirements, professional education , practical experience and changes in legislation. Research methods that were used: historical, induction and deduction, theoretical generalization, analysis and synthesis, observation, grouping, causation, abstract logic. The expediency of improving the organization, methods and techniques of accounting and reporting at enterprises and institutions of the public sector is determined. Theoretical and methodological principles and practice of accounting, taxation and reporting at enterprises and institutions of the public sector are studied. Topical issues of improving the training of specialists in accounting and taxation are considered. Conclusions and recommendations for the development of theory and improvement of business accounting practice in the public sector have been developed.
