Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The project is aimed at theoretical and experimental study of the processes of excitation, radiation and scattering of electromagnetic fields in structures consisting of twodimensional periodic screens of finite thickness, perforated with holes of complex shape. One of the main results of the first stage of the project is the development of the operator method and the method of partial regions for solving three-dimensional problems of diffraction electromagnetic waves on multilayer electrodynamic structures, and the creation of algorithms for their calculation. Experimental studies based on the use of metal two-dimensional periodic screens with coaxial-sector and rectangular holes were carried out. The presence of the resonance of the complete transmission of electromagnetic waves at a frequency lower than the critical one for the selected types of waveguide channels has been experimentally confirmed. The scientific and practical novelty of the work lies in the experimental confirmation of mathematically grounded rigorous electrodynamic methods for solving three-dimensional boundary value problems of diffraction, methods and algorithms for calculating the electrodynamic characteristics of metal screens perforated with holes of complex shapes. The obtained results allow to create Fabry-Perot resonators, spatial electromagnetic filters, frequency-selective surfaces, and radio-absorbing coatings.
