Work object - To increase the effectiveness of treatment of patients, injured in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (Joint Forces Operation), based on the study of the root causes, structure and features of traumatic eye injuries and the development of vitreoretinal operations. Examination methods: conventional clinical and ophthalmological, ultrasound, radiographic, spectral optical coherence tomography. Methods of surgical intervention: modern technologies of traumatic cataract extraction, intraocular lens implantation and modern vitrectomy technologies. The results of treatment of 26 patients, injured in the anti-terrorist operation with simultaneous damage to several intraocular structures were analyzed. Beside the use of conventional methods of computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, radiography, ultrasound, the prognostic value of spectral optical coherence tomography in explosive eye contusion has been established. Based on the retrospective analysis, the peculiarities of clinical manifestations of the post-traumatic process in the eye of victims in the anti-terrorist operation were studied in order to improve the results of their treatment by using modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, that allowed to carry out the necessary operational intervention at a high modern level, to improve the system of referral of patients with severe eye injuries directly to ophthalmological centers with appropriate equipment, one of which is the Ukrainian Ophthalmic Trauma Center. We have proposed a method of surgery for severe contusion of the eyeball with simultaneous damage to several intraocular structures, which consists in phacoemulsification, subtotal vitrectomy, intraocular diagnosis of the location and extent of rupture of the sclera, delayed sealing of the sinuses.
