The subject of research is theoretical, historical and social problems of reforming private and public branches of law in the conditions of Ukraine's European integration. The purpose of the work is to study the theoretical and methodological principles and analysis of theoretical, historical and general social aspects of modernization of the legal system of Ukraine. The main tasks of research work: to generalize and systematize the theoretical provisions, essential characteristics and categorical features of the concepts “legal system of Ukraine” and “European integration”; identify the constitutional, administrative, legal and political features of mechanisms for influencing the effectiveness of European integration; to research, systematize and develop theoretical provisions on the formation and development of constitutional, financial, economic, civil, labor and criminal law in the context of the EU integration process; investigate and classify the types of social, legal and political risks that may pose a threat of non-compliance with Ukraine's commitments to the EU; to study the activities of public authorities and non-governmental institutions and to determine the theoretical and legal areas for improving their activities; identify the main trends and outline the features and trends of transformation of the legal framework of the EU; to develop a set of scientific-methodical and practical recommendations for the transformation of the national legal system to the standards of civil society. Research methods: historical, comparative, dialectical methods; structural, functional and situational analysis; interdisciplinary approach; system analysis and synthesis; other methods of scientific knowledge and the results of the study of philosophical, sociological, pedagogical literature on the issues under study.
