The purpose of the work is to analyze ways to update the contractual legislation of Ukraine, to study the latest changes in the mechanism of contractual regulation, not only given the phenomenon of the contract, its freedom, compliance with legal principles, but also the latest understanding of freedom of contract, structure of contractual relations, its stages etc. Research methods - general and special methods of scientific knowledge, including dialectical, comparative law and formal law methods, as well as methods of analysis and synthesis, abstraction and generalization. As a result of the conducted research the theoretical generalization and the new decision of a scientific problem which consists in complex research of a problem of contractual regulation of private law relations is carried out. The system of agreements mediating civil obligations is defined and characterized. Conclusions and proposals on improving the mechanism of contractual regulation of private law relations have been formed. The main results of the research work are reflected in the published scientific publications: a collection of scientific papers (2), a textbook (2), monographs (6), bills (6), scientific articles (49). The research report is based on the results of this work presented in the Appendices to this Report. Predictive assumptions about the development of the object of study - the introduction of a unified approach of the legislator to develop a mechanism for legal regulation of private relations in Ukraine, as well as the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU law in view of Ukraine's signing of the Association Agreement, on the one hand, and the European Union the Atomic Energy Community and their member states, on the other hand, according to which the priority is to improve the civil legislation of Ukraine.
